# Education Plan

> Free Craft access for students, faculty, and staff members of academic institutions.

Craft's Education Plan provides free access to premium features for students, faculty, and staff members of academic institutions.

Register with your school email at [craft.do/education](https://www.craft.do/education)

## Eligibility

You're eligible for the Education plan if you're:

* Currently enrolled student
* Faculty member
* Staff member of an academic institution
* Can provide a school-issued email address

## Sign Up

### New Users

Sign up to Craft using your school-issued email address in any Craft app or at [docs.craft.do](https://docs.craft.do/).

### Existing Users

If you already have a Craft account with a personal email:

## Verification

When you register, we check whether your email address belongs to an academic institution. Open the activation email and click its button to activate the plan.

### No School Email?

If your academic institution doesn't provide an email address, please reach out to our [support team](mailto:support@craft.do) to explore other opportunities.

## What's Included

The Education Plan includes:

* **Unlimited documents**
* **250GB storage** (50GB per space)
* **Up to 5 spaces**
* **1GB file upload limit**
* **Lifetime AI usage quota** (15 credits)

### Not Included

* Advanced share analytics
* Custom domain
* Ability to invite members to your team (document-level collaboration is still available)

## Duration and Renewal

As long as you're an enrolled student, educator, or staff member, you can stay on the Education plan.

Your verification is valid for **12 months**, after which you'll need to re-verify your status. We'll send you a reminder email when it's time.

## Switching from a Paid Plan

Yes, you can switch from a paid plan to the Education Plan. First, sign up with your school-issued email address or change your existing Craft account email to your school-issued email.

After your Education Plan is activated, make sure to cancel your existing paid subscription to avoid future charges.

If you subscribed through Craft, you can cancel your subscription in Craft. If you subscribed through the App Store, manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account.

  Canceling your paid subscription does not delete your Craft account or documents.

## Data and Email Changes

Your data is stored in your Craft account and tied to your email address.

  If your school email is about to be deactivated, change your Craft account to another email address beforehand so you can still access your data.
</Warning>

## Collaboration

You can share documents with anyone and collaborate on the document level. Team plans (Plus, Family, Team, Business) are required to invite members to your team.

For student organizations or classroom teams, please reach out to our support team – we can consider your use case for a discount on team plans.

## Upgrading

Upgrading from Education Plan to paid tiers is not currently supported. You can subscribe to a paid plan by creating a new team or using a different Craft account.

Craft is available on:

* iPhone
* iPad
* Mac
* Vision Pro
* Windows
* Web browser

A single Education plan subscription works across all your devices.

## Troubleshooting

    The activation email is sent automatically, including on weekends. Check your spam or junk folder. To get a new one, sign in at [docs.craft.do/edu](https://docs.craft.do/edu) and select **Resend Activation Email**. Activation links expire after 7 days.

  <Accordion title="I changed my email to my school address but still have the Free plan">
    Changing your email doesn't activate the plan by itself. Click the button in the activation email we send to your school address.

  <Accordion title="My school email is not accepted">
    If your school email isn't accepted, or was already used for the Education plan on another account, contact our [support team](mailto:support@craft.do).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I change my account email while on the Education plan?">
    Yes. The plan stays active until it expires. To renew it, you need a school email that still works.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I renew my Education plan?">
    In the last 30 days before your plan expires, sign in at [docs.craft.do/edu](https://docs.craft.do/edu) and select **Renew License**. Then open the renewal email sent to your school address and click its activation button.

    If your plan has expired, your account is on the Free plan and your documents are kept. On the same page, select **Renew Education Plan**, then open the email sent to your school address and click its activation button.
